Van Hool, an independent designer of buses, coaches and industrial vehicles, has entered into a contract with Transport for London (TfL) in the UK for the construction of two latest generation hydrogen buses. This new contract falls within the scope of 3Emotion. The hydrogen bus, which converts hydrogen into electricity, is currently one of the most environmentally friendly public transport vehicles: it offers local zero emissions (absolutely no harmful emissions or CO2) and significantly reduced noise levels.
On November 11th and 12th Regione Lazio attended the second meeting of the working groups of the new national Hydrogen Platform in Trento. Representatives of the industry, of research centres and of institutions discussed together about the integration of hydrogen and fuel cell applications in the field of transport at national level.
The 16th of september more than 70 people (from industry, politics, environmental organisations, ...) attented the the evening symposium on zero-emission public transport in Haarlem.
The fuel cell bus of Van Hool, in daily service at the Flemish public tranport company De Lijn in Antwerp, transported the enthousiastic participants from the central station to the City Hall in Haarlem.
