Van Hool delivers two fuel cell buses for London

Van Hool, an independent designer of buses, coaches and industrial vehicles, has entered into a contract with Transport for London (TfL) in the UK for the construction of two latest generation hydrogen buses. This new contract falls within the scope of 3Emotion. The hydrogen bus, which converts hydrogen into electricity, is currently one of the most environmentally friendly public transport vehicles: it offers local zero emissions (absolutely no harmful emissions or CO2) and significantly reduced noise levels.

As the COP21 starts, CHIC (Clean Hydrogen in European Cities), a flagship zero emission bus project saves over four million litres of fuel and demonstrates that the fuel cell bus technology is ready to underpin the decarbonisation of our urban centres.

The 16th of september more than 70 people (from industry, politics, environmental organisations, ...) attented the the evening symposium on zero-emission public transport in Haarlem.

The fuel cell bus of Van Hool, in daily service at the Flemish public tranport company De Lijn in Antwerp, transported the enthousiastic participants from the central station to the City Hall in Haarlem.
